A data recording apparatus in a camera comprises data recording means for recording at least one of data upon loading a film A or commencing the photographing and data upon unloading the film B or finishing the photographing, in an area of the film in which no picture is taken, and preferably film feeding means for feeding the film to a data recording position in which the data is recorded.
