A pressure filter having a housing in the form of a casing with interior arranged hydraulically operable and slidable pressure piston, and inner non-cylindrical filter and an outer filter casing, whereby the casing housing, pressure piston and non-cylindrical filter are arranged coaxially relative to one another. Further including discharge lines for the filtrate as well as a closable opening for the removal of filter cakes, whereby the non-cylindrical filter is stationary and the filter casing only or together with a guide tube having a cylindrical configuration are axially displaceable. The filter casing reduces conically in size in the direction of the pressure piston.
