The shield driving machine comprises a sectional driving machine located in a shield which drives towards the face. The machine has a cutting head on an arm which can swing at right angles to the shield axis in a carriage in a revolving cradle (15). The axis (22) of the cradle (15) forms an acute angle with the shield axis (9) in order to cut a sloping face. USE/ADVANTAGE - The machine is designed especially to cut a sloping face.
