PURPOSE:To perform thick-wall surface hard facing by welding excellent in impact resistance and wear resistance on the engine valve face and stem end, etc., by performing hard facing by specific mixing ratio powder of Ti material and Co on an engine valve made of Ti material and then, carrying out age- treatment thereon. CONSTITUTION:Hard facing is performed by the powder consisting of Ti material and 1-90 weight % Co as hard facing material on the face 3 and the stem end 5 of the engine valve 1 made of Ti material such as a Ti-6Al-4V alloy and then, age-treatment is carried on thereon. By this method, a brittle compound by hard facing material of the mixed component-base powder consisting of Ti material, Co and a Co-base alloy is not generated and thick-wall surface hard facing by welding excellent in impact resistance and wear resistance can be performed. |
