A small boat is transported overland by a trailer (1) which is towed by a motor vehicle. The trailer is constructed from aluminium tubes and has two rear wheels (2) and a single steerable front wheel. In order to transport the boat over soft ground or sand, the trailer is detached from the towing vehicle. The trailer is then driven by an electric motor (16) which is connected by a shaft (17) to a differential gear (15) which forms part of the rear axle (3). The motor (16) is supplied with electricity from a battery (13) mounted on the trailer. USE - Transport of boats overland.
