Spund insulator for stairs whose steps are interconnected adjacently by a bolt operating in tension and compression. The bolt should consist of a first bolt, (3) led through the first step (1) and a second aligned bolt (6) through the second step, the bolts fitted at their feeding ends with force transmission plates (5, 7) and an interposed flexible element (9), the entire assembly enclosed by a cap nut etc fixer (8) joined positively to the first bolt (3) plate (5). There is an interval, (11) between the fixer nut and the second bolt, (6) and a second flexible element (10) between the second bolt plate (7) and fixer nut. Pref. the interval contains rubber moulding (12). ADVANTAGE - Insulator prevents sound bridges between adjoining steps, affords noiseless movement without load transfer to building floor or walls.
