摘要 Corona discharge produces ozone from oxygen or air flowing in the elongated annular gap (5) between an outer tubular metal electrode (1) and a concentric inner electrode (2). The gap includes a concentric layer (3,4) of dielectric, e.g. enamel, to separate the electrodes. Peripherally and along their axial length the two electrodes are spaced from each other by regularly distributed springy metal tongues (5,8) where shape, size, arrangement and number combine to balance the weight of the inner electrode. The tongues may be projections, all pointing in the same direction, from an elongated metal strip (7) or from annular supports; tongues may be integrally stamped from the strip or spot-welded. ADVANTAGE - Uniformly dimensioned discharge gap is maintained even after long surface, while small metallic contacts do not seriously affect ozoniser output.
