PURPOSE:To prevent the failure to cut an ink sheet or a paper jam due to operation in a state where a condensate has generated by providing a condensate detection device which detects a state where a condensate has generated in a unit, near a platen roller and fixing the device to a heat reserving member. CONSTITUTION:A condensate detection device 7 is provided near a platen roller 4 and this device 7 is fixed to a heat reserving member 8. Consequently, a resistance value changes in accordance with humidity and moisture quantity in the cabinet of a device. This change allows the state where a condensate has generated to be detected. In addition, the heat reserving member 8 consists of a material which has a high specific heat as physical properties and is not compatible with ambient temperature changes. This material is synthetic rubber which is used for the platen roller 4. If the unit is placed in a highly humid environment or an ambient temperature rises suddenly from a low level to a high level, a condensate generates in the unit. This state is promptly detected by a condensate detection device 7. Thus it is possible to prevent the normal operation of the unit and also prevent the failure to cut an ink sheet and a paper jam. |
