PURPOSE:To ensure a low-pass filter processing by using a specific picture element signal stored in a buffer memory provided between the stages of a multistage thinning out processing circuit and executing the low-pass filter processing of a processing unit block signal to be thinning out processed at such a stage. CONSTITUTION:In a buffer memory 22 provided between the stages of multistage thinning out processing circuits 21 and 23, the processing unit block signal to be thinning out processed at such a stage and the picture element signal to belong to a precedent processing unit block signal adjoining by one picture element which adjoins in horizontal and perpendicular direction are stored. By using the picture element signal stored in the buffer memory 22, the processing unit block signal to be thinning out processed at such a stage is low pass filter processed. Thus, the processing unit block signal to be thinning out processed by the multistage thinning out processing circuits 21 and 23 can be surely low pass filter processed. |
