<p>PURPOSE: To eliminate a cross color error and a dot crawl error in a decoded image without undesired loss of details by applying pre-filter processing to a luminance signal and a chrominance signal in multi-dimension and correcting each signal. CONSTITUTION: A luminance component is filtered in multi-dimension and peaks and edges in the luminance component causing a cross color error are corrected in the case of decoding an encoded video signal. A chrominance component is filtered in multi-dimension and peaks and edges in the chrominance component causing a dot crawl error are corrected in the case of decoding the encoded video signal. Furthermore, the filtered luminance and chrominance components are combined with a synchronizing signal to generate the encoded video signal. Thus, the cross color error and the dot crawl error in the case of decoding the encoded video signal are minimized.</p> |
