<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a correct tape/head contact by making the distance between a magnetic head and a height-directional guide at least two times longer than the distance between the magnetic head and a tape feeding element in a tape feeding path. CONSTITUTION: A force F1 toward the guide 4 is provided with elements 10, 11 nearest to a lateral direction guide 4 in the path feeding a magnetic tape 32, and a force F2 in such a direction that the other element 12 and the tape feeding element 2 are separated from the guide 4 is provide with. The tape 32 is coiled around a pin 11 with a specified angle of contact, and a specified tensile stress is generated in the longitudinal direction with the tape 32. When the force F is applied to the tape edge in the width direction of the tape 32 with the pin 11, a moment is generated and made to be the maximum at the position of the pin 11, and is curled to generate the maximum non-stress area 40. The distance 25 between the height directional guide pin 11 and the magnetic head 7 is selected so as to be two times or more longer than the diatance 26 between the head 7 and the tape feeding element 2 or equal to the same in the tape feeding path 23, the non-stress area 40 is recognized to be unable to reach the position of the magnetic head 7 from the operation result. By this constitution, the correct tape/head contact is obtained and the correct signal transmission is executed.</p> |
