PURPOSE:To realize an insulating layer which is good at both its discharge voltage property and its wettability to a base by laminating two kinds of low melting point glasses of different properties to form double structure. CONSTITUTION:Insulating layers 31, 31 are formed on the inner surfaces of a pair of respective glass bases 1, 11 with a predetermined gas discharge space 5 therebetween. The insulating layers are each formed by lamination of a lower insulating layer 32 provided on that side which makes contact with the glass bases, and an upper insulating layer 31 provided on the side of the discharge space. The upper insulating layer 31 is formed from low melting point glass having PbO as its main component to which ZnO is added, and its discharge voltage property is stable but its wettability to the glass bases is bad. The lower insulating layer 32 is formed from low melting point glass having PbO as its main component to which CeO2 is added, and its wettability to the glass bases is good but its discharge voltage property is unstable. The advantages of both are employed by means of lamination. |
