<p>Surface-engraved panels are formed by applying a sheet of thermodeformable material, e.g. PVC, with an adhesive to an engraved chipboard substrate before passing the panel through at least oe pair of rollers. The second roller is formed of elastically yieldable material which causes the heated softened thermodeformable sheet to penetrate into the engraved cavities of the substrate. The panels are passed through a continuous press from roller table to roller table. The temp. of the panels is raised progressively from ambient to about 30-40 deg.C by heaters, and then to approxz. 120 deg.C by second heaters.</p> |
