PURPOSE:To make it possible to industrially and efficiently produce L-valine by carrying out enzyme reaction in the presence of a cell of bacterium having biotin demanding properties and belonging to Coryne type bacterium in glucose concentration maintained to 0.01-0.6wt.%. CONSTITUTION:Bacterium having biotin demanding properties and belonging to Coryne type bacterium such as Brevibacterium flavum M 1233 (FERMP-1497) is cultured in a normal culture medium for microorganism containing about 1-5wt.% glucose under aerobic conditions such as submerged culture. Then the bacterium cell is collected from the resultant cultured product and cleaned and directly used or the bacterium cell is immobilized and used as an immobilized material. Then enzymatic reaction is carried out in the presence of the bacterial cell or treated material thereof in an aqueous solution of complete synthetic medium while retaining glucose concentration to 0.01-0.6wt.% at about 2050 deg.C to produce L-valine. Then L-valine produced in the resultant reaction liquid is subjected to separation and purification in combination with already- known method such as an ion exchange resin treating method. |
