PURPOSE:To fully recover residual toner to a developing device even when a thick recording paper, etc. are used and to prevent deterioration in the quality of a recorded picture by widening a gap between the recording papers through switch operation. CONSTITUTION:When a picture is recorded on a recording paper 34 of a normal thickness, a gap between the recording papers 34 is set at l1 by a change-over switch. When the recording paper is relatively thick like a post card, etc., the gap between the papers 34 is set at any of l2, l3, and l4 by operating the change-over switch. Residual toner can be satisfactorily recovered by a developing roller even if the amount of the residual toner is large, by passing the part of a developing roller 26 two times before picture recording is started for the following recording paper. Therefore, the residual toner does not adversely affect picture recording on a second recording paper. |
