PURPOSE:To treat distillation residue of low-class distilled spirits and to produce a useful yeast cell by culturing Candida tropicalis belonging to the genus Candida of yeast in the distillation residue of low-class distilled spirits as a nutritive source and multiplying. CONSTITUTION:Distillation residue of low-class distilled spirits (76,500mg/kg BOD, 39,900mg/kg soluble organic substance) discharged from an ordinary production process of low-class distilled spirits, having concentrated complicated component base, is adjusted to pH 5-6 to give a medium. Candida tropicalis (deposition No. IFO 0007) belonging to the genus Candida of yeast is inoculated into the medium. Then fungus is cultured at 30 deg.C to give the yeast cell. The yeast cell multiplied in the distillation residue of low-class distilled spirits contains components such as NAD or ATP as bioreactor. Consequently, the distillation residue of low-class distilled spirits is effectively treated and the cell containing the effective components is produced. Since the cell is rapidly multiplied by a simple operation, treating cost of distillation residue of low class distilled spirits can be extremely reduced. |
