Control equipment for a crane drive has a three-phase asynchronous, slip ring rotor motor and a master switch where the master switch consists of a non-metallic body, which is fitted with axially displaced metal segments fitted to each switching stop. Proximity initiators are so arranged that each segment, by turning the body, can be brought into a position effective with respect to a proximity initiator. The binary signals coming from the proximity initiators are accepted by an electrical information circuit with a contactless logic circuit and from this emerge, amplified output signals to control the different switching steps.
