PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of cracks, etc., and to allow a smooth operation as well as to improve a service life by adding metallic fibers to a refractory material and kneading the material by using a binder, then molding the material to a plate and subjecting the plate to a heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:The plate is formed by adding the metallic fibers at 1 to 10% to the material essentially consisting of the neutral, acidic or basic refractory material, kneading and molding the material by using the org. and/or inorg. binder, and treating the molding at 180 to 800 deg.C. The effect of preventing the generation of the cracks and crazes is low if the amt. of the metallic fibers to be added is <=1%. The moldability at the time of production and the corrosion resistance at the time of use are adversely affected if the amt. is >=10%. The bondability of the stock is small and sufficient strength is not obtainable if the treatment temp. is <=800 deg.C. The bond by a ceramics bond increases and thermal impact resistance decreases, in addition, the strength of the metallic fibers is deteriorated and the effect of the fibers is low if the temp. is >=800 deg.C. |
