PURPOSE:To obtain the title copolymer having excellent heat resistance, freeze resistance, flexibility, oxygen permeability and surface characteristics by subjecting a lactone to ring opening polymerization onto hydroxyl group of a polysiloxane having end hydroxyl group-containing polyoxyalkylene chain. CONSTITUTION:A lactone (e.g. epsilon-caprolactone) is added to a polysiloxane shown by formula I [A' and B' are methyl or group shown by formula II (Z is bifunctional group to bond Si atom to polyoxyalkylene; a and d are 2-4; b and e are 0-100 and b+e=>=1); R<1> is 1-30C alkyl, (substituted) phenyl, etc.] and the lactone is subjected to ring opening polymerization onto hydroxyl group of the polymer in the presence of a catalyst such as dibutyltin dilaurate to give the aimed lactone silicone block copolymer shown by formula III (R<2> is polyester group having 200-100,000 average molecular weight obtained by ring opening polymerization of lactone). |
