摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To lower the height of a whole engine including a suction system by providing suction pipes to respective cylinders between two banks adjoining each other, and mounting a suction collecting part that distributes suction air on the side of one end in the direction of crank shaft. CONSTITUTION:In an engine 1, 1st-12th engines 10a-10l are provided to central and right and left banks 2-4 in accordance with motion sequence, sub-surge tanks 19-21 and 22-24 are provided between respective banks to branch off the suction air passed through a throttle valve 30 on the side of the engine by a main surge tank 29, and fed through respective variable suction mechanisms 33, 34. Then supplied from the sub-surge tanks 19-21 to the cylinders 10b, 10k of the right bank 3, the cylinders 10d, 10g of the central bank 2, the cylinders 10e, 10h of the right bank 3, and from the sub-surge tanks 22-24 to the cylinders 10c, 10l and 10f, 10i of the left bank 4, and cylinders 10a, 10j of the central bank 2 respectively through suction manifolds 27. Thus, the height of whole engine can be lowered including the suction system.</p>
