<p>PURPOSE:To exchange data at high speed by providing a bus interface circuit exclusive for co-processor and a switch determining the using propriety of the circuit on a microprocessor. CONSTITUTION:The pin of a co-processor 2 is connected to a pin 7 for bus interface and a microprocessor 8 is connected with the co-processor 2 by an exclusive bus 9. When the bus interface circuit is turned to an active state and the microprocessor 8 reads an instruction for co-processor from a memory 6, the microprocessor 8 writes the co-processor instruction through the exclusive bus 9 to the co-processor 2 and simultaneously reads data for numerical computation from the memory 6 through a chip bus 3. Next, when the microprocessor 8 writes the data for numerical computation through the exclusive bus 9 to the co-processor 2, the next instruction is read from the memory 6 through the chip bus 3. Thus, the data is exchanged at high speed.</p> |
