PURPOSE: To obtain a circular knitting machine, needing only a small bearing pretension and working smoothly even when there is a relatively large production error by arranging two elastic flanges in one of the two tracks, adjacent to each other in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION: This circular knitting machine has a supporting disk 14, attached to a needle cylinder 10, and a holding ring 24 as part of the supporting disk 14, which are provided with elastic supporting flanges 32 and 34, respectively, to compensate radial expansion of the supporting disk 14 by displacements of the supporting flanges 32 and 34 in the arrowed direction A. These elastic supporting flanges 32 and 34, receiving a relatively small bearing pretension, uniformly restricts and holds wire rings 37 and 38, respectively, to allow a ball 41 to pass the joint of the wire ring without making a noise. |
