PURPOSE:To reduce local wear of a tire and noise occurring in traveling by chamfering the edges of a block defined by a main groove and a rectangular sub-groove along the curved surface connected to a road surface. CONSTITUTION:On the tread of a tire, there are arranged a main groove 1 in the tire circumferential direction EE and a sub-groove 2 in the tire width direction FF. Each block 3 is defined by the main groove 1 and the sub-groove 2. With this arrangement, of the edges of the block 3, the edge 5 in the acute angle as seen from a plane is chamfered along a curved surface connected to the tread. That is, on a section rectangular to a tread passing through a substantial neutral line (n) between two sides forming the tread of the edge 5, the corner 6 of the edge 5 is chamfered at a specific radius of curvature. Thus, it is possible to reduce local wear and noise occurring in traveling. |
