PURPOSE:To obtain flat discharge voltage characteristics for 1.5V or so for allowing compatibility with existing 1.5V base batteries by using composite sulfide with lithium and copper as active material for a positive electrode. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode is provided using composite sulfide with lithium and copper as active material. That is, the composite sulfide with lithium and copper is so constructed that lithium is inserted into copper sulfide in part, and therefore actuating voltage for initial discharge is decreased to obtain flat discharge voltage characteristics for 1.5V or so. Also, lithium is inserted into the active material for the positive electrode to allow the process of smooth lithium diffusion in the positive electrode during the discharge for the increase of discharge capacity. It is thus possible to perform compatible use with 1.5V base batteries. |
