The coping ventilation device disclosed comprises an externally convex coping cover element (10), located externally and with a hole (11) in the region of the crown, and further comprising an insert (20) located in the cavity in the coping cover element to collect precipitation which enters and lead it back out. The insert consists of a central element (23) located at a given distance below the opening plus, staggered with respect to it, side elements (21, 22) which, for a given height of the central element, are located at a given distance from each other. Air passes from the space under the roof through this gap, is deflected sideways and passes between the side elements and the central element, whereupon it is deflected again over the central element before escaping through the opening in the cover element to the atmosphere. Conversely, precipitation which enters is deflected by the central part on to the side elements from where it passes into the cover element seating zone. The fact that the opening in the cover element has an upturned edge (12) creates a suction action. Alternatively, a spoiler cap can be mounted over the opening, thus producing a Venturi effect. |
