Two perpendicular shafts 2, 4 carry respective bevel gears 3, 5 arranged inside a casing 1 and engaging with one another. The first shaft 2, which passes through the casing 1 from side to side, rotates in two bearings 8, 10; 9, 11 arranged on two opposite faces of the casing 1. The second shaft 4 also rotates in two bearings 13, 15; 14, situated on either side of the gear 5; one of these bearings 13, 14 is arranged on one face of the casing 1, while the other bearing 14 is carried by an internal spigot 16 which entirely surrounds the first shaft 2 and which is securely fastened to the casing 1. This very rigid assembly allows the transmission of high mechanical powers. <IMAGE>
