METHOD FOR BONDING CURABLE ELASTOMER COMPOSITION TO METAL

PURPOSE:To bond a curable elastomer composition containing a reaction product of nitrosophenol and polyisocyanate and Co or Ni adhesive to a metal by curing the above-mentioned composition while bringing the composition into contact with the metal. CONSTITUTION:A curable elastomer composition containing (A) a reaction product of A1: nitrophenol [e.g. (alkyl substituted) 4-nitrosophenol] and A2 polyisocyanate (e.g. toluenediisocyanate or diphenylmethane diisocyanate), e.g. a compound expressed by the formula (Ar1 is arylene group; Ar2 is aromatic or aliphatic group; n is 2 or 3) and (B) an adhesive consisting of Co or Ni salt of an organic acid, preferably a salt of stearic acid or naphthenic acid is bonded to a metal by curing the above-mentioned composition while bringing the composition into contact with the metal. The composition is used as a topping composition for steel reinforced tire.
