<p>PURPOSE:To control the variation of tension of a strip on the inlet side with a high responsiveness by moving the positions of deflector rolls guided through a die means based on information about the thickness of the strip on the inlet side of main rolling rolls. CONSTITUTION:The passing locus of the strip A uncoiled from an uncoiling reel 20 is bent by the deflector rolls 13, then, the strip A is rolled by the main rolling rolls 24. The control means anticipates the variation of tension based on information regarding the thickness of the strip A brought into the main rolling rolls 24, the deflector rolls 13 are guided by a guide means according to this variation of tension and moved to a prescribed position. Since the variation of tension of the strip on the inlet side of the rolling rolls can be absorbed by the movement of the deflector rolls 13 with a high responsiveness and at a high speed, the thickness of the rolled sheet material can be controlled with a high accuracy while the rolling speed is held at a high speed and the productivity is kept at a high grade.</p> |
