<p>PURPOSE: To make a printing blanket usable excellently with a corrosion- resistant, plated cylinder by a constitution wherein the side of the blanket coming into contact with the blanket cylinder has a nontextured, low-friction base surface. CONSTITUTION: A blanket 11 has a base layer 12 of fabric and a layer of one or two or more reinforcing fabrics such as a layer 14 is included in a laminated structure. For the fabric base layer, besides, the fabric of small elongation, such as that of rayon or glass, is used. The layers 12 and 14 are bonded to each other by an adhesive layer 13 of neoprene rubber or another appropriate adhesive which can be made a rubber bonding agent, and the blanket can have an arbitrary number of compressible intermediate layers 15. Besides, another fabric layer 17 is positioned on the compressible layer 15, while a surface layer 18 is formed of an arbitrary appropriate polymeric material, including natural rubber and synthetic resin typically. According to this constitution, peeling of a plating metal from the surface of a blanket cylinder in the course of a printing process is prevented.</p> |
