PURPOSE:To remove adverse influence due to charge remaining in a capacitor by executing an exciting program of supplying a current of zero output torque to an induction motor in a state that a main contactor is turned ON for a predetermined period of time after an ignition key is turned OFF. CONSTITUTION:A controller 20 has an exciting program of so controlling an inverter 14 that an output torque is not generated in an induction motor 16 when an accelerator is not depressed and an output torque command is '0'. This program is executed when power supply to the motor 16 is OFF. That is, when a main contactor 12 is turned OFF and power supply from a battery 10 is stopped, the program is executed for a predetermined period of time, charge stored in a capacitor 18 connected in parallel with the battery 10 is introduced to the motor 16 to be discharged to be consumed. Thus, adverse influence of residual stored charge in the capacitor 18 can be eliminated. |
