A nozzle to discharge liquid fertilizer, growth retardant, insect sprays, orchard spray material and the like in a lateral pattern in an efective manner so that a substantial equal quantity of liquid material is discharged in each increment of the path being transversed by the nozzle. In one embodiment a nozzle (10) is provided with a discharge passageway (34), a downwardly opening, inverted U-shaped extension (36) of the passageway (34) and a curved blade diffuser (56) in the inverted U-shaped extension (36) to break up the liquid flow into droplets. In another embodiment, an additive injector (92, 94, 96) is incorporated into the nozzle (80) which enables a controlled quantity of liquid material to be injected into the main flow of liquid being discharged with the diffuser (90) effectively serving as a mixer for the additive and the liquid discharged from the nozzle (80). |
