Self-supporting element for roof with frame and covering, and corresponding roof, for the production of a roof for a building. The element comprises a structure consisting of two metallic profile sections and a monobloc covering consisting of an outer skin, of an inner skin and an insulating mattress formed by mineral-wool fibres perpendicular to the parallel planes of the skins, these being made preferably from aluminium sheet. The structure is formed by a tie and two lateral beams and the covering rests on the lateral beams, forming an upwardly open V. <IMAGE>
