One of the uprights 4 of the carriage is provided with holes 60,62,63,64,65 for the actuation and fixing of the actuation motor 61 and both uprights 4,5 are provided with housings 66,67 respectively for the bearing of the transmission shaft 68. The carriage 1 of the machine is converted from the manual version to the motorised version with the fitting of the motor 61 and of the transmission mechanism 66;131-137, without the need for machining. The improvements also relate to a unit for transmission from the motor to a supply roller, a single-direction bearing in one of the two supply rollers, a turbulence protector device 85, a device for rapid attachment of the cutting unit, a device for tensioning the fabric, a horizontal-movement copier device, a stop flange for the zigzag folding clamp, a connection guide and a flexible tube for electrical connection of the cutting unit.
