In this method for producing a doormat made from curled- filament additions, after the stage of forming a first curled-filament addition of low filament density, in which continuous moulding takes place of the numerous filaments obtained by extrusion of a thermoplastic synthetic resin from a T-shaped injector plate and arranged longitudinally and laterally at intervals, which descend onto a boiling-water surface whilst the temperature of the filaments is maintained close to the moulding temperature by means of heating, whilst the bundle of filaments is descending vertically towards the surface of the cooling water, and they sink into the water vertically at a controlled speed which is less than the speed of moulding of the filaments by extrusion, whilst a layer of a high-density thermoplastic synthetic resin is conveyed, with heating, by a controlled conveyor in order to operate at a supply speed which is identical to the speed of sinking into the water of the aforesaid curled-filament addition, and it sinks into the cooling water next to the outer face of the curled-filament addition at the discharge end, the aforesaid curled- filament addition and the layer of thermoplastic synthetic resin fusing together over their contact surface.
