<p>The pierced shadow mask (11) is mounted inside the glass envelope (15) of the tube close to the phosphor coated inner surface of the screen (2). Around the periphery of the mask are flat sprung plates (14). Holes (18) in the plates fit onto the heads (17) of pins (16), set into the wall of the tube. The sprung plates (14) are made from a material which has a linear thermal expansion coefficient no greater than 10 x 10 to the power of minus 6 per deg.C.</p> |
