Unsatd. fatty acid esters of dexamethasone and betamethasone of formula (I) are new. (where R=opt. uns unsatd. 8-14C alkyl; n=3-7 and the 16-CH3 group has alpha or beta configuration)Cpds. (I) are antiinflammatories, antiperspirants and antiprurities which are applied topically; optionally with other active cpds. (I) give good penetration and prolonged activity the ester being slowly hydrolysed to release the active cpd.
