Dehydrated rare-earth halides and a process for producing the latter. The invention relates more particularly to a rare-earth halide of chloride, bromide or iodide type containing less than 1.5 % by weight of water and less than 3 % by weight of oxyhalide. This halide is obtained by dehydration of a halide hydrate by passing a stream of a halogen-containing dehydrating agent (halogen hydride) through the mass to be dehydrated. |
