The filter device is sepg. solids from a liq. and comprises a rotatable sieve drum placed in a tank which partly projects into the liq. to be cleaned. Around its circumference, the drum is covered by a filter cloth and inside is divided into cells which form sections sepd. from each other. A suction tube extends into each cell which can be connected to a vacuum source. A scraper is also provided in contact with the filter cloth above the liq. level. Between the filter cloth and the perforated wall of the sieve drum, there is an elastically compressible permeable sponge layer. The scraper rests against the sponge layer depressing it at that place and has a rounded smooth filter cloth contacting edge, allowing a sliding movement of the scraper.
