Buckle arrangement is attached to straps at each end of an orthopaedic support appliance, and has interlocking claw and rod mechanism secured by locking pins. Closure part (2) includes base (4) and pin (14) to secure strap (16). Strap (17) is locked in identical fashion with pina (15). Buckle device includes slot (9) to accommodate pin (6) enclosed by claw part (8). Locking slide pin (11) moves resiliently assisted by rubber hose arrangement (13). Slide pins (11) are unlocked by inserting pins (24) with tapered points (25). Pins are secured in block (26).
