The ground anchor for sun shades and holiday safety boxes is assembled from two or more longitudinally hollow parts joined together. The bottom part has a helical blade with a small pitch held in the other pout by one or more rods fitting inside. The upper part is provided with a screw thread (3) on which the bottom of an object can be attached and locked with a screw cap. The helical blade (2) gradually reduces in dia. and has a tapered tip. A hole through the side of the top part may be provided for insertion of a bar to drive the anchor into the ground.
