A compound of formula (1) and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof in which R<1> is hydrogen or can together with R<3> form a -(CH2)n- group where n is 2,3 or 4; R<3> is hydrogen, C1-4alkyl, halogen, or amino, or R<3> together with R<1> can form a -(CH2)n- group; R<4> is hydroxy or a phosphate group; R<5> is hydrogen, C1-4alkyl, halogen, or amino, provided that R<3> and R<5> are not both hydrogen; m is 2,3 or 4; and R is a 2, 3, or 4-pyridyl or pyridyl N-oxide or N-C1-C4alkylpyridone group optionally substituted by one or two groups selected from C1-4alkyl, C1-4alkoxy, hydroxy and hydroxymethyl. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions containing compounds of formula (1), methods for their preparation and their use as histamine H1-antagonists.
