A hospital bed which is mounted on castors (19) to facilitate transport has a frame (20), mounted behind the bedhead (18), which can support a bedside table. The frame (20) has a platform to receive the bedside table. A lock then holds the platform in the raised position so that the table can be transported along with the bed. The lock can be released by swinging the platform upwards and then allowing it to swing downwards. USE - Hospital bed.
