PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording method by which clear images can be recorded without generating fogging, trailing or the like, by using a specified semi-solid ink composition, in a thermal recording method wherein an ink is selectively melted by heating by a thermal head, and the melted ink is transferred onto a recording paper through a porous body. CONSTITUTION:A semi-solid ink composition having a viscosity at 20 deg.C of 50-500 poise and a yield value at 25 deg.C of 100-500X10<2>dye/cm<2> is used, in a thermal recording method wherein a semi-solid ink comprising an image- forming material is supported by a porous body or a porous thermal head, is selectively melted by heating and the melted ink is transferred onto a recording paper through the porous body. The ink composition 7 is placed in a supporting mount 6, porous heating elements 10 of the porous thermal head 9 are selectively heated according to a recording signal, and the ink 7 at the heated part is transferred onto the recording paper through the head 9, thereby recording. The heating element 9 is heated to about 150-300 deg.C. A recording paper having an oil absorption of not higher than 200sec and a Bekk smoothness of 100-1,000sec is used. |
