PURPOSE:To perform quick charging operation through a general power source transformer by providing a charge/drive control means for controlling an inverter to charge/drive a capacitor and additionally providing capacitor charging function. CONSTITUTION:Upon occurrence of instantaneous voltage drop, a compensation amount detection voltage Vy is fed, based on an occurrence detection signal A, to a comparator 18 and AC compensating current is fed from an inverter 21 to an injection transformer 22 in order to perform series compensation of load voltage thus producing a command signal B. Upon recovery of source voltage, the inverter is driven to be charged thus charging a capacitor 9. When the capacitor 9 is fully charged, provision of the command signal B is stopped and a drive switching circuit 16 is controlled to feed source voltage to a load 6 through a switch 4. By such arrangement, charging operation can be carried out quickly with no influence on the load voltage. |
