The electrical signal produced by a photodiode (PD) upon receipt of an optical pulse is amplified by an opertional amplifier (OP1) and applied directly to one input terminal (+) of a comparison circuit (COM), and also to a circuit which provides a continuing signal at the other comparison circuit input terminal (-) equal in amplitude to a derived ratio, sq. half, of the amplifier output signal. The comparison circuit provides a standard high output signal if the first input signal exceeds the second, and a standard low output signal if the second exceeds the first. In multi-step transmission of data, pulse distortion produced in receiving circuit is avoided in final output. |
