Compsns. for control and monitoring of insect pests contain at least one pheromone (I) and an alkynol of formula R(R')2COH, where R = 2-4C alkynyl; R' = H or 1-4C alkyl. ADVANTAGE - Cpds enhance the attractant or repellant activity of the compsns. and increase their residual activity. Pref. (II) is 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol (IIa). The (I):(II) ratio 1000:1 to 1:10000 (10:1 to 1:1000). The compsns. are contained in a dispenser made of polyethylene.
