<p>The marble synthesis (5) constitutes a bonding method between two heterogeneous materials, marble - polyester, so that they can formulate a uniform and homogeneous set (5). Around the edges of a 0,02 m thick marble (1) slab, a 0,01 m thick marble frame is applied (2), forming a trough, into which are then glued pieces of different coloured and shaped marble (3), with spaces between them. These spaces are filled with coloured polyester (4), so that the whole set (5) becomes a marble and polyester composite. Subsequently, the surface is polished with a grinder, achieving the glossiest possible finish. Key problems that were resolved are the good homogeneity of expansion and contraction coefficients as well as fusion of the two heterogeneous materials. The success of this solution was achieved due to the properly balanced ratio of the three basic polyester materials (accelerator, cobalt and polyester) and the selection of a processing temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.
