PURPOSE:To prevent a decrease in the image density of a visible image, which is caused by the extremely shorter toner replenishing time and an insufficient toner quantity by setting the time when the color developing units can replenish the toner after completing the development in an editing and copying mode where a color image is formed shorter than that in the color copying mode. CONSTITUTION:The time when the color developing units 21Y, 21M and 21C can replenish the toner after completing the development in the editing and copying mode where the color image is formed is set shorter than that in the color copying mode. For instance, in case the color image is formed, the system is designed in such a way that developing rollers 4C, 4M and 4Y of respective developing units stop rotating and instantaneously the toner replenishment is ready. Thus, deterioration in image quality caused by the shortage of replenished toner is prevented. |
