摘要 <p>This invention relates to a porous hollow carbon fiber film excellent in heat resistance which has pores interconnecting the inner and outer wall surfaces of the hollow fiber film and wherein the maximum value of the pore radius obtained from the pore volume differential curve is in the range of 10 - 1,000 nm, the total pore volume is in the range of 0.1 - 1 cm<3>/g, the radius of curvature when bent is not greater than 10 cm, and the temperature at which 10 wt % of the hollow fiber film is decomposed is at least about 300 DEG C as measured by TGA. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing the above-described porous hollow carbon fiber film excellent in heat resistance, which comprises mixing an acrylonitrile polymer (A) whose acrylonitrile unit content is 90 - 100 mol %, a thermally decomposable polymer (B) which will decompose into lower molecular material at temperatures not higher than 600 DEG C, and a solvent (C), spinning and stretching the mixture, imparting flame resistance to the hollow acrylonitrile fiber thus obtained, and carbonizing the resulting fiber at temperatures not lower than 400 DEG C before being made porous.</p>
