A stop for the lid of a car boot is attached to the inner wall (3) of the lid by a flanged fitting (1) secured by bolts (5). The fitting has an internal left hand thread (6) which receives a screwed bush (7). The stop (10) has a domed head (27) which is attached by a screw (12) to a split body (9). The screw (12), which has a right hand thread, has a pointed end which expands the body (9) so that it grips the bore of the bush (7). This feature enables the position of the stop to be adjusted in the axial direction after it has been fitted to the lid. USE - Stop for car boot lid.
